The Research Interest Group Mentorship Program

Following the Research Workshop held at the 2016 HITH conference in Sydney, the HITH society’s Research Interest Group is excited to be announcing an initiative we hope will be an enabler of research in the HITH setting. Following the workshop it was clear that a number of our members have a keen interest to progress local research projects in their HITH settings. A means to foster such research and add to the value proposition of belonging to the HITH society we are pleased to be able to offer members a mentoring program to provide those members with limited experience in research a mentor who is an experienced researcher.

Five mentorships are available and will be for six months commencing 1st February 2018. Evaluation of the effectiveness of the program will determine future program development. It is expected that an outcome of the mentorship is either a poster or oral presentation at the 2018 HITH Conference being conducted in Adelaide in early November.

Mentoring is a mutually beneficial relationship which involves a more experienced person helping a less experienced person to achieve their goals. Each of our mentors have extensive experience in research. The mentorship will consist of the following elements

  • Teleconference monthly maximum 1/2 hour
  • Monthly email contact
  • 6 month duration (unless extended by mentor)
  • To be eligible you must be a member of the HITH society. To apply, return the attached application form by email to: research@hithsociety.org.au
